Dear Friends in PMRV,
The month of May is a special one in many ways. During May, many set aside time and remembrance for the following events:
**National Day of Prayer and Holocaust Remembrance May 2, 2019)
**Older Adult Week (May 5-10, 2019)
**Fair Trade Day (May 11, 2019)
**Mother’s Day (May 12, 2019)
**Presbyterian Heritage Day (May 19, 2019—Celebration/acknowledgement of Presbyterian Heritage. Please see attached recommended bulletin insert from our denomination)
**Mission Worker/Disability Inclusion Sunday (May 26, 2019)
In addition, Native American/Indigenous American Heritage Month is celebrated throughout the month of May. In some areas of the nation, November is the month in which Native American/Indigenous Americans celebrate the fine heritage. Since I receive responses that each month is the one, I celebrate and commemorate both months. Celebrating the fine contributions of people to the world (i.e., celebrating the gift of motherhood, the Presbyterian Heritage, and remembering tragedies like the Holocaust that we must never allow to repeat), is something that keeps us looking forward as we continue the ministry Christ entrusted to us.
Blessings to your congregations, your families, and your ministries. Godspeed.
